17th Century Spanish Armada Iron Strong Box with Lock and Key

17th Century Iron Strong Box from the Spanish Armada. Extremely heavy. This is an iron bound strong box for storing valuables in the 16th and 17th centuries. This great old maritime relic has a large complicated lock on the underside of the lid. These are often used by officers at sea in their cabins holding valuables. This chest has an original key, many iron bands with grommets. Two hasps on the front and an additional lock. 38" x 20" x 17".
