New York Yacht club dinner plate from the yacht "Wacondah." Ornate gold rim and inner detail. Painted New York Yacht Club burgee crossing staff with "Wacondah" private signal on rim at 12 o'clock and 7 o'clock. Royal Doulton stamp on bottom. "Wacondah" was launched in 1901 as the Revolution, a screw steam yacht designed by Charles Seabury. She was purchased and renamed "Wacondah" by Boston banker and businessman Charles Hayden in 1907. In 1917, the US Navy acquired her and outfitted her for wartime service to protect New York Harbor during World War I.
