Lannan Gallery

America's Cup defender "Puritan" was built at the Lawley Shipyard in Boston, Massachusetts. The cutter style sloop raced to defend the 1885 America's Cup and was skippered by John Malcolm Forbes of the Ralph Waldo Emerson family. This model of the Puritan shows a deep green color below the waterline and ivory above.  The deck is outfitted with lifeboats, winch, wheel, binnacle, hatches, rope coils etc....

Model is mounted into a brass trimmed display case on turned brass pedestals and custom molded mahogany base.
