Sleek model of the U.S. Naval topsail schooner "Alert" by noted ship model builder William Hitchcock. Plank on frame construction with exposed ribs. Sleek hull carries a large swivel gun on deck. This model was on display for many years at the famous Cummaquid Inn on Cape Cod owned by the Athanas Family of Anthony's Pier 4. Mounted into a custom glass display case with detached table stand.
