Rare blueprint by Howard Chapelle showing details of the United States Navy Sloop of War Wasp of 1807. Howard Irving Chapelle was an american naval architect and curator of maritime history at the Smithsonian Institution. He wrote many books on marine architecture. Chapelle was a close friend of famous ship modeler Alfred S Brownell and this blueprint comes from Brownell's archives. Signed lower right Chapelle, H..
