From Boston to Norwell | New Lannan Gallery Antique Shop

Remember the old Lannan Gallery at 540 Atlantic Ave? It was a salty establishment with creeky wood floors and lots of character? Our new gallery is a lot like that, but better!

This 18th century colonial home has a rich and robust history and is one of the most important dwellings in Norwell. Founded in 1849, the town of Norwell was once a part of the oceanside community of Scituate. Dr. Joseph Jacobs (1707-1780), great-grandson of Nicholas Jacobs, an original New England settler, was a large landowner in the towns of Hanover and Scituate and the proprietor of Jacobs Mills, a saw and grist mill in village of Assinippi.

Jacobs built the home, now at 483 Washington St. in the mid 1700s.
