Private steam yacht of J. Pierpont Morgan, Corsair in brass and glass display case with custom wooden table stand. Many fine details include capstan, helm, binnacle, winch, funnel, lifeboats, portholes, cabins, doors etc. Morgan commissioned three yachts that he christened Corsair, with this one operating under his ownership from 1890 to 1898. It was sold to the United States Navy for $225,000 and converted for use as a patrol boat in the Spanish-American War and sailed under the name U.S.S. Gloucester. Measures: 51 x 14 x 67 with case and table (height of case without table is 27").
