Solid brass bell from the ship HMS Delhi, engraved “DEHLI” and dated 1919. HMS Delhi was a Danae-class light cruiser of the British Royal Navy, launched in 1918 and commissioned in 1919 at the close of the First World War. Designed for speed and long-range service and displacing approximately 4,850 tons, she was armed with six 6-inch guns, anti-aircraft weapons, and torpedo tubes. During the interwar years, Delhi served on overseas stations including the East Indies and China, and was recommissioned during the Second World War for service in the Mediterranean, where she undertook convoy escort and shore bombardment duties before being damaged by a mine off Egypt in 1941 and subsequently repaired. 38 lbs. 13"H x 13"Diameter
