Boat Compass on Gimbal in a Mahogany Box

Solid brass gimbaled boat compass that has been meticulously polished and lacquered, and fitted to a varnished mahogany box with a sliding lid. The compass is by Wilcox Crittenden of Middletown, Connecticut. The manufacturing date on the bottom of the bowl is February 1945.
