Framed International Code of Signals Numeral One maritime pennant, professionally mounted within a shadow box display. Constructed of white linen with a red roundel, the pennant retains its original heavy canvas hoist, rope lanyard, and wooden toggle. Produced for use aboard merchant and naval vessels, numeral pennants formed part of the International Code of Signals, allowing ships to communicate numerical information, navigational data, and coded messages between vessels and shore stations.

When raised alone, this pennant simply denoted the numeral "1". When combined with other numeral pennants or signal flags, it formed part of navigational, operational, and coded communications. A well-presented mid-20th century maritime display piece, ideal for collectors of naval and nautical memorabilia.
