Framed International Code of Signals Papa (P) maritime signal flag, professionally mounted within a shadow box display. Constructed of blue and white linen with a central red square, the flag retains its original canvas hoist, rope lanyard, and wooden toggle. International Code of Signals flags were widely used by naval and merchant vessels to communicate important navigational and operational messages before the widespread adoption of radio communications, and they remain in use today.
When flown alone, the Papa (P) flag means "All persons should report on board as the vessel is about to proceed to sea." In fishing operations, it may also indicate that nets have become fast upon an obstruction. This highly recognizable signal flag represents one of the most iconic messages in maritime operations and makes an excellent addition to any collection of naval or nautical memorabilia.
