Rare Yacht Blueprints for the Sloop "Shadow"
Original 1928 blueprint from John Alden Project 379. The vessel was built at George S. Lawley and Sons in Boston for William P. Barrows. Shadow was an "R" class sloop with very sleek racing lines. The legend reads: "R" Glass Sloop Sail Plan. January 1928 one half inch equals one foot.
The plan shows all of the masts, booms, spars, rigging, blocks, etc., in superb detail. The deck profile shows a very sleek profile to cut through the wind and sea.
This plan shows the Hull lines from three angles, bottom, profile, and bow. The legend plate reads: "R" class boat lines. January 16, 1927 one inch equals one foot. No. 379.
Principal dimensions length overall 40'8", LWL 26'8" Beam 6'9".
This is rich blue in color and nicely framed.
